Quick Help
The help describes all potential functionalities, that is all the ones available in the Professional Edition. This explains why you will read once in a while in the help Snowie Pro, though you have the Student Edition. At the top of each help page, a diagram as the one below will inform you which Edition supports the concept described in the page:

Roughly, the differences in functionalities between the two Editions goes along the following axis:
Get the 1-ply, 2-ply and 3-ply evaluation of your moves and of Snowie's moves
In both Editions, you play backgammon against a powerful opponent using a nice user interface. You can store your results in "player accounts". You can export the log of your games or matches in several formats. In both Editions, you can evaluate the position at any of the above evaluation levels. You get a sorted list of the best moves and qualitative information about each of them. You get the equity of a position, and the associated proper cube action.
Rollouts
Only the Professional Edition allows you to perform cubeless and live cube rollouts of a position.
Automatic analysis in batch mode of your matches played over the Internet
The Professional Edition allows you to analyze entire matches played either on the internet or on Snowie in a batch mode. It then provides a full report of the analyzed games, with possibility to navigate from error to error, etc.
Bear-off databases
Both editions use bearoff database to improve Snowie'evaluation in races.
